Segregation :: A matter of Kuwaiti National Security

Posted on: 23rd February 2008 by Kismat in Perception, WTF

Warning: The following post has a dangerous dose of sarcasm, it is to be taken with a large grain of salt. You have been warned.

Quote from a reputable local newspaper:

“In the past few months Kuwaits social and cultural system has broken down into complete chaos.  Young men and women everywhere loosing total control, and fornicating in every elevator, alley, classroom, university parking lot. The locals protesting and crying out for segregation to be implemented in all schools, private and public, and this should take 1st priority. It is believed that segregation will greatly increase the nations national security. In an effort to combat fornication local corporations have promised to segregate their work areas, elevators. Any man or women caught being in the wrong designated sector will immediately be fired, and reported to the local authorities, so that the sentence of 30 lashes for conspiracy to fornicate be carried out swiftly. Even home owners are going to segregate their house. Even foreigners have agreed to participate in this campaign, for the see the light.

While the world is fighting terror, Kuwait has a much harder battle to fight.

The war on Fornication!”

/me gets a good laugh out of this one….

So yeah lets forget all this nations problems:

  1. Inflation
  2. Crappy Educational system
    1. Look all those kuwaitis that are ready to jump in here and say “Ya3ni shqasdeq, eshfeehaaa KU?” Shut up!
    2. Its not like Kuwait has a University that is recognized globally like say…hmm Harvard, MIT, Rice nope didnt think so!
    3. Millions of people migrate to Kuwait for our superb education… lol whatever
  3. Medicare or lack of
  4. Corrupt legal system, business, civil, pretty much everything
  5. How long have they been building the 5th ring road now?
  6. Did you know that it was illegal to build any building w/o underground parking? Hmmmmm oh yeah I can see that being applied, have you seen all the new buildings? Did you see the underground parking, nope? Me neither… It must be the invisi parking that everyones talking about.
  7. Poverty
  8. Jleeb Al-Shyoukh (Do you even know where this is? If you do, have you been there? Its like “no-mans” land there)
  9. Theres no point in Voting, do you see a point in it? Votes are bought, end of story.
  10. I could go on with this list…..

But all those things are nothing in comparison to *GASP* god forbid a guy and a girl happen to be in the same classroom?

Look people, show me in the Quran, where it says that men must be segregated from women, I guarantee it you wont find it. Life doesnt work like that. And what these religious extremists are trying to build is something that will never work. If a segregated life is what you want, then migrate to Saudi Arabia. They have it in place, and Im sure youll feel right at home there.

But this is not Saudi Arabia, this is KUWAIT!!!!! And I dont see protests in the streets calling for segregation, I see the opposite. So I ask myself, on whose behalf is that law being passed and implemented? Where are those parents that are so concerned about their daughters and sons? You know what a good 1st step would be? Get rid of your maids and drivers, and try raising your kids like real parents should. But why do that, I know, its so easy to pump out 5 kids, and pay KD100 per month and have some foreign slaves take care of em 24/7.

Every time I think of what Kuwait could be, and what it is now, it makes me sad. Very sad, it is getting to point where Im almost ashamed of saying “Na3am, Im kuwaiti”. Dont give me your nationalistic BS. Ill give you good reasons.

Would it not be fair to say that everyone and their “grandmother” plays soccer in this region? (you know what I mean, Kuwait is a soccer nation, like it or not its fact) How many soccer balls are made in the middle east let alone in Kuwait? Answer: Zero

What has Kuwait produced in the past 40 years? (Dont even start with Abraj…. )
What has Kuwait done that no other nation has done?

Im not asking for Kuwait to become like Dubai, but I wish it did more for itself, for the people, for the country.

Why doesnt Kuwait invest in medical research? Why doesnt it revamp our hospitals? Why doesnt it fund our schools? Why doesnt it get us better teachers? Why cant we keep our streets clean? Why doesnt Kuwait help us help it?

The other day I was looking at a Kuwaiti flag, you know what it read? “Made in China”

Lol we cant even produce our National Flag, we need the Chinese for that.

But hey.. what I do I know… Im sure segregation is the answer to all our problems.

Death to the Kuffar, and death to all fornication.

Kuwaiti Passport Renewal :: LOL !!!!!!

Posted on: 20th February 2008 by Kismat in Perception, WTF

What you need:

  1. Passport
  2. 4 personal pictures with a white background (light blue works too)
  3. 1KD Stamp & 2 KD Stamp
  4. Patience
  5. Patience
  6. Patience
  7. Patience
  8. Did I say Patience already?

It should take 3 days.

But as I found out recently, it could take 13 days or more, “if” you are lucky.

I mean what the fuck? Why the hell does it take more than 13 days to get your passport renewed. Oh.. hold on mate.. yeah they told me, do you know anyone that works in Thageeg? If you do, they might be able to speed up for yah. AKA it takes this long cause you dont have Wasta.

I submitted my passport renewal request on the 17th of February, and been told, “Oh didnt they tell you?”

me: “No.. what?”

girl: “You wont get it till after the vacation”

me: “Im sorry … which vacation?”

girl: “Feb 27th, or couple days later”

me: “your kidding right?”

girl: “nope”

Seriously… this is certainly insulting… that a Kuwaiti citizen needs “wasta” to have his fucking passport renewed within a “reasonable” amount of time.
