PC RPG : Fallout 3

Posted on: 16th July 2008 by Kismat in PC

I was just checking out the lates feeds today, and ran accross this awesome trailer of Fallout 3. All I can say is “wow” cant wait for the release. The only thing that hardcore fans might not like, is that Fallout 3 has been changed to real-time FPS instead of click based movement.

But all in all I suppose it will make for a more immersive environment. Feast your eyes on this….

22 Days of Vista Ultimate :: The result?

Posted on: 22nd June 2007 by Kismat in MMORPG, PC, Perception, Software

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned that I upgraded my PC, and installed Vista. Well after using Vista Ultimate for 22 days I realized the following.

  1. I don’t have any games that make use of Directx 10 (the only valid reason to upgrade imho)
  2. Vista cant run TeamSpeak
  3. Vista doest like my mmorpgs
  4. Im sick of the Crash to Desktop bugs

Vista looks pretty, but is about as stable as my mazda (laughs)

Re/Solution:

Foramt, install WinXP professional, seriously what a waste. If you play games, Vista is really not the way to go, at least not yet. If your only into office work and browsing the net, videos, or multimedia then your all set. That is if Vista supports your hardware.

Other Issues:

  • Creative Drivers = Flimsy
  • Teamspeak PTT wont work
  • FPS is really low
  • SLI is not fully supported/stable
  • My Logitech mx510 is not supported (Vista native drivers only… makes my mouse really sluggish in fps games)

Rest in peace Vista…. see you sometime next year. Or end of this year if any DX10 games are launched.

fps mmorpg :: The Agency

Agency Logo (s)

Sony Online Entertainment recently announced their new MMO “The Agency“. If you like the TV series “Alias” and wanted to get a little bit of the action yourself, then this might the game for you.  I would expect the game to have many similarities with PlanetSide. And the Gamespot review confirms this.

Basically you create your avatar and pick one of two sides (Mercenary for ParaGON / Spy for Unite). You then take on one of many instanced missions (assassination/drug trade/recon etc) or PVP arenas. I suppose the object of the game is to gain enough influence to eventually start your own “Agency”. Not really sure how that will work out.

I’m pretty sure that I will check this game out once its in Beta/Released, but I think Ill stick with Planetside in the long run, at least until Warhammer Online comes out.
